Getting Around

A rental car is essential for this itinerary, as Bismarck's attractions are spread across the city and surrounding area. Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park is 7 miles south of downtown and not accessible by public transit. Downtown Bismarck is walkable for the capitol area attractions. Parking is generally free and abundant throughout the city. The drive from downtown to any major attraction takes 10-20 minutes. Bismarck Municipal Airport is small and easy to navigate, located just 15 minutes from downtown.
